Did you know the Board of Education seat is a non-partisan position? Board members work with both the democratic and republican parties to find the best solutions for the challenges our students, teachers, and schools face.
While serving as the vice president for the Teachers Association, I chaired the government relations committee and was afforded the opportunity to meet with Maryland legislators. The committee advocated for the best interest of Anne Arundel County Schools. After hearing our positions, legislators would better understand how to align our needs when voting on various laws.
While serving on the committee I built relationships with many leaders throughout our community. Last night, I stopped by the House of Delegates to catch up with Nic Kipke. We've worked together on many occasions to determine the actions needed to support our schools.
